At Equis, we are proud to stand with the Kinaway Chamber of Commerce in celebrating the inaugural Evonne Goolagong Cawley Day at the Australian Open 2025.

This event honours the 50th anniversary of Evonne Goolagong Cawley’s first Australian Open victory, recognising her extraordinary achievements both on and off the court. Evonne has not only been a trailblazer in tennis but also a lifelong advocate for empowering First Nations Australians through education and sport.

This year’s celebrations include the ‘Because of Evonne breakfast’, hosted by the Australian Tennis Foundation, and a ceremonial walk to Melbourne Park. Funds raised during these events will directly support initiatives aligned with Evonne’s vision of creating opportunities for Indigenous children to thrive.

As Tennis Australia’s CEO Craig Tiley aptly remarked, “Evonne exemplifies all that is good and great in our sport, both on and off the court. She’s a shining example of humility and grace.”

Attending this milestone event allows Equis to deepen our commitment to supporting First Nations communities and celebrate the cultural richness that Evonne continues to champion. We are inspired by her dedication and humbled to play a part in amplifying her legacy.
